And in Kinsale & especially in Westport (where we climbed Croagh Patrick) with its attractive tree lined promenades ( known as The Mall) and stone bridges over the river Carrow Beg. Walk the tree lined streets and view the narrow fronted commercial buildings typical of Irish towns, with many here demonstrating a singular refinement and charm.

Colours of Ireland

Ireland WindowsCouldn’t resist photographing these windows in Kinsale, Ennis and Cong. While the national colour is blue (Presidential and St. Patrick’s blue) and the customary colour is green, there are many other colours to capture while traveling in Ireland. These images were taken a few years ago when I was just moving into digital technology and had purchased my first digital camera – the Canon 10D which I still use today. I had sold my large format cameras (4×5 Zone VI and Canham 5×7) and large format lenses used exclusively for B&W images and purposely chose to photograph in Ireland as a means of re-discovering the impact of colour in my images.
